形態特徵

• Robust perennial.
• Radical leaves many, densely tufted, outer ones reduced to subaphyllous or shortbladed brown coriaceous sheaths; blades broadly linear, 20-50 cm long, 8-15 mm wide, prominently scabrous on margins, gradually tapering to acuminate apex. Sterile culms elongated to 2 m, soon falling and forming propagules at nodes and at distal end.
• Flowering culms erect, 60-120 cm tall, severalnodose, leaved; cauline leaves shorter than culm, sheath 4-7 cm long, brown, loosely surrounding internodes. Inflorescence a large compound or decompound anthela, 7-10 cm long, 8-15 cm wide; bracts 3-5, longer than anthela; rays stout, patent, 8-10 cm long, smooth, twice or 3-times further divided. Spikelets in head-like clusters of 4-10, broadly ellipsoid to ovoidal, 3-5 mm long, 2.5-3.5 mm wide, brown, subobtuse at apex.
• glumes ovate-orbicular or subdeltoid-ovate, 1-1.25 mm long, 0.7-0.9 mm wide, suddenly contracted to rounded or obtuse, usually mucronate apex, membranaceous, weakly 3-nerved on obtuse back. Achenes broadly obovate, biconvex, 2/3 mm long as broad, contracted to mucronulate apex; style filiform 1.2-1.5 mm long, 2-cleft at apex. Hypogynous bristles none, at times 2 or 3 developing, longer than achene, filiform, sparsely upwardly scabrous above middle.

• 台灣 : Wet open places, chiefly on slopes of low mountains near the seacoast.
• 世界 : From southern Japan through southern China southwest to India, and southwards Malesia.
